James Lipari is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts’ Bachelor of Production course and works as a Freelance Lighting Designer and Technician in Theatre and Events.
James’ recent credits include; Spring Awakening – Federation University Arts Academy (Lighting Design), Fly By Night (Development #2 & 3) – Melinda Hetzel and Co (Stage Management), Midsummer @ Theatre Works (Stage Management), The Village @ Falls Music and Arts Festival (Production Management), Der Ring des Nibelung (The Ring Cycle)– Opera Australia (Lighting Design Assistant), Fly By Night – Stuck Pigs Squealing (Stage Management), Into The Woods – Leibler Yavneh College (Associate Lighting Design), In the Next Room (The Vibrator Play) – FWL Theatre (Co Lighting Design), Together as One –Jonathan Homsey’s Faure Experiment (Lighting Design). He also works as part of the Production team at Resolution X, Polyglot Theatre and Chunky Move
Whilst at VCA James was the Lighting Designer for: A Bright Room Called Day, Ship of Fools, Student Works 2011, To Belong To Displace, I am Familiar and New Short Works 2010. He completed secondments with Jenny Hector on 100% Melbourne – City of Melbourne and Damien Cooper on The Narrative of Nothing – The Australian Ballet.
